Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on base or you can live off base. If you live off base, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.

You can contact the housing office at 229-257-3425. Please keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on Base housing to include wait times.

Moody Air Force Base is home to the 23rd wing which provides combat search and rescue operations worldwide to support the global war on terrorism. Moody Air Force Base has been an undergraduate pilot training base since 1949. Moody is also home to the Fighting Tigers and is located near Valdosta, Georgia. Upon arriving, the base is accessible from GA Hwy 125. Stay in the right lane as the name changes to Bemiss Road, and the base is located 9 miles down the road. There is no public transportation system in the area. Housing at Moody Air Force Base is privatized, and housing facilities are owned and operated by American Eagle Communities. Contact the housing office located in Building 119 on arrival as waiting time for on-post housing can vary. Call #229-257-4417. The housing office also maintains a list of off-post houses for sale or rent. The basic allowance for housing will cover most rent and some utilities.
The Moody Inn provides temporary lodging to those families on a wait list. Family units are available with one or two bedrooms and a living room. If temporary lodging is needed, reservations should be made as soon as possible as housing is limited. Grassy Pond Recreation Park is an option for personnel with pets. The facility offers a recreational area with 17 cabins and over 35 RV spots. There are two school districts near Moody Air Force Base and include the Lowndes County School Systems and Valdosta City Schools. Children will attend school in the district in which they live. The neighborhoods have been rezoned within the school districts. For further information, contact Valdosta City (245-5640) or Lowndes County (245-2257) Transportation office to determine which school district applies to you residential neighborhood.
